My name is Oliver Kennedy and I am currently the Digital Arts teacher at Animas High School. I graduated from Fort Lewis College in December of 2023 with a degree in K-12 Theatre Education. Animas High School is a special place, I love the community, the campus, and the location. I am originally from Dallas, TX but my life has taken me all over before rooting me in Durango. I originally studied to be an actor in Oklahoma and Covid called me to the mountains.
As an Educator I believe in one thing over all other things: creating involved human beings. As an art teacher I push creativity and self confidence in all of the human beings that come through my classroom. Children are the future, let's make the future bright! Outside of the classroom I enjoy a variety of activities. My biggest passion outside of education is theatre, you can find me in a number of productions around town. I am also an aspiring outdoor enthusiast (I'm doing my best, I did mention I am from Dallas). I enjoy disc golf, hiking, running, climbing, camping, playing in the river, and any other crazy adventure that I feel so called to try out!
